And, in today's market, exceptions for a few points are almost non-existent. As a mortgage professional, you have a few options. You can utilize one of the many credit repair companies and they will work with the borrower to improve the credit score. Or, if you have the desire, you can utilize some of the techniques listed below and work directly with the borrower to fix their credit and, possibly, get them into a loan that they may not have previously qualified for. Keep in mind that this takes time and that you will not see the immediate results. But, at the end of the day, it is well worth your time if it helps to create a happy and loyal client.
